Journal Love in December...

Hello, dear ones!

Why am I wide awake at 3:30 am? I've come to the conclusion that it's just all of the excitement of Christmas that has me joyfully jumping out of bed at these odd times! Hubby and I both get like this when we are looking forward to an event! Seriously, we are like a couple of small children!

Oh well. It's a lovely time to blog. Ya know...

Dark outside. So peaceful. Lights around the prairie home project a warm, golden glow.

 

Reflections in the windows.

Rumor has it that a big snow storm will be making its way to us this evening. We are excited about this as well!

Hubby wants to ride his Polaris RZR on our land, through the snow.

I'm content with some hot java and journal love. Always.

Boys. He loves his toys...

and I adore mine.

I'm going to make gingerbread men cookies this weekend! I picked up all of the trimmings at the store- spice drops, red hots, and cookie icing in red, white, and green. Oh, how fun!

I'm sure that I will discover a few with missing limbs. It happens in our home. Crumbs on the counter tops, cakes and cookies mysteriously vanish. Hmmmmm.

He makes me smile!

 

These are one day, Christmas memories for us.

A huge reason why I journal.

I want to savor every moment.

The Red Christmas Box...

Hello!

A new week, it is!

Did you have a nice weekend?

 

We made our trip to the big mall on Saturday...

And even captured a glimpse of Santa Claus! Oh, yes. He says that he is soon heading our way!!!

After a full day of shopping, browsing, tasting, and dining out...

It was so nice to be back at home, in the warmth... With my art journal that had been neglected for weeks.

From where my plush recliner sits in the living room...

This is my view. The Christmas tree...

And a red box that sits beneath it. Oh yeah...

I can't wait to show and tell what hubby got me for Christmas! He refuses to let me have them now. I have wanted these for a year or so...

And now just seems like a more fitting time to own them.

 

I spent a very good portion of Sunday cleaning and organizing my art studio.

I have a clean work table now...

Ready to be loaded down soon with January and February art!

A Little Bit of Christmas...

Happy weekend to you!

I still love weekends. One would think that because I now work from home, that the weekends would not be as meaningful. For us, weekends are filled with adventure, road trips, dining out, and of course... rest!

Today we are going into a bigger city to shop at the mall and simply take in some of the magic of Christmas!

I had a busy and productive week.

More trips to the post office to ship ornaments! I am so grateful to be doing so and want to thank all who made purchases. I continue to create new designs... and they are still selling!

I also have some Valentine goodies in the makings! Oh, how fun!!!!

However, I do allow myself to slow down and enjoy this moment. This Christmastime.

Each morning I plug in all of the pretty lights!

 

I sip the coffee and gaze for a bit.

My heart filled with peace,

Joyful December Ornaments!

Hello, friends!

Don't you just love December?

I'm sitting here this morning, coffee in hand... admiring our lighted Christmas tree. It's c-c-c-cold outside. Frost on the windows. Grey skies.

The spirit of Christmas is scattered throughout the house. Boxes ready to ship. I'm happy to announce that my ornaments are selling out again and again! If I only had some hard working elves to help, I could produce even more of them...

But, I don't. Sigh.

After being inside for days, making, painting, sculpting, and boxing...

It was nice to get out Friday night, with hubby. We went into the city for dinner and shopping. Afterwards, we took a slow drive down Mass street in Lawrence, Kansas, to enjoy the lovely lights.

I snapped some pics from the car. (Not the best), however, I wanted to share!

My heart is happy and filled with such joy!

I wish this for each and every one of you as well.

Now, back to my work table, I go!

Pure Sweetness...

Hello, hello!

Are you all ready for Thanksgiving?

Hubby and I will leave tomorrow...

to travel back to our home town, to be with family! Yay!!! I had hoped to have our large Christmas tree up and the house fully decorated by now (so that we could return back home to a cozy, Christmas atmosphere)....

But I've been a bit busy. I only found time to put a few tiny trees around the rooms.

You see...

I have spent days in the kitchen.

Oh, how nice...

She's been baking cupcakes for Thanksgiving ( you must be thinking). Impressed, huh?

Giggle. Giggle.

I've been in the kitchen, indeed...

Making faux cupcakes. Some became ornaments, others will be photo holders. Some are for gift giving...

Others to sell.

Aren't they just adorable?!!!!

I'm even making all of the toppers from clay!

Pure sweetness.

Poor hubby. Frothing at the bit. I have promised to bake him some real cupcakes once we get back from our Thanksgiving travels. He's been a trooper, assisting me in the kitchen with this project!

I also have more handpainted ceramic ornaments in the makings, on my work table. I sold all of the ornaments pictured in my last blog post. Gone, gone, gone!

Oh my.

Our house is quite a mess. Especially the kitchen.

It's a nice mess though!

Hello, friends!

Guess what I woke up to this morning?

Ice!

Yes, ice!

At that moment I felt even more grateful to be at home, in my pajamas...

and in my magical room, where fairytales do come true!

I've been painting for days. This first week off from work has slipped away from me. Time does fly when you are having fun, indeed!

I have just completed a series of ceramic angel ornaments!

No two are alike, and each girl seems to have her very own sweet personality!

The backside is colored as well, (without the angel)... allowing space for personalizing.

I go back and forth with thoughts on selling my art on etsy. I seem to do quite okay selling through word-of-mouth and via Facebook. What are your thoughts on this? Please, tell me!

By the way, I'd love to have you "like" my Facebook page! Please, come and join my little art community! I'm bringing it back to life... With intentions of making it an enjoyable interactive space with tutorials, giveaways, art projects... Possibly some future swaps and collaborative art journaling! What do you think? It's just another thing that was placed on the back burner, due to the day job. It's so nice to be doing such things... Without watching the clock!

Aside from art, I've been cooking up some lovely meals and even baked a batch of peanut butter cookies today!
