Kansas weather...

As I type this blog post...

I can't believe that it's blowing snow outside and we are burning wood in our furnace for heat...

when just Saturday, hubby and I were here-

in Missouri. Wearing tank tops and splashing in streams!

Oh, how we savored the sunshine and the small blooms around us.

Even when we returned back home, the weather was quite pleasant. Oh, how tricky Kansas weather can be!

I dressed appropriately for work. Sweats. And off to my studio with the piping hot java in hand.

I finished this commission piece at last!

I will be shipping the canvas to it's new home tomorrow!

How are you?

What's your weather like?

We are so ready to start our garden but Mother Nature is not cooperating!

Wishing you a fabulous, "Spring" day!

Polka Dots...

Hello out there and happy Monday!

I love weekends but I'm also very anxious to greet Mondays and a new work week these days. (Gosh, it feels good to be able to say that)!

I have just finished up this commission piece.

Bad pics, I know...

But photographing an 8" x 24" canvas is tricky.

The client wanted me to create a whimsical version of her bathroom, in her colors, of course.

I adore the polka dots!

Soon into the painting, I found myself wearing polka dots!

We had a weekend filled with company and events.

A 50th wedding anniversary celebration. I wore a dress and hubby wore his nice black slacks.

We were happy, however, to get back into our jeans on Sunday for a trip into the city.

Shopping at Menard's for garden seeds and supplies...

and then topping it off with Starbuck's where I stocked up on coffee for the home and a new insulated travel mug. Oh, and a caramel macchiato for the road, of course.

Yard work for hubby and studio work for me for the last part of our weekend. Yes, I'm changing my studio decor just a little after buying two new comfy chairs from Pier One Imports. Pictures soon, I promise!

How was your weekend?

Fun, I do hope!

I'll see you back here again soon!

XO

The Red Pot Series...

Hello, my dear readers!

Forgive, please, for being absent.

I so intended to create a new post at the beginning of the week...

But the nasty headaches kept me away from any mental tasks. No worries. I can explain. I have decided to try giving up caffeine altogether since I drink way too much coffee in a day. Seriously, it's not normal consumption because I love it so and working from home now has increased my intake. I never would have thought that caffeine could make such a huge difference in our bodies, but it does.

Every night I was waking up at odd hours and hot flashes are going to send me over the edge if I do not find a cure!

Monday was my first day with zero caffeine. Rough few days ahead with headaches. (And I have heard of this happening).

However, my hot flashes seem to be less frequent and not so unbearable and I have been sleeping through the night!!!

Me give up coffee? No way! I just switched to decaf!

Now I can share with you, a series of three acrylic paintings that were sent to Virginia.

I call this "The Red Pot" series.

This was a surprise gift that I was commissioned to do. Quite enjoyable!

I received a message from the recipient. That's always rewarding!

I'm working on several commissions right now, bouncing from one to the other! Can't wait to show you.

We have company arriving tomorrow so I must close for now and make time for cleaning and baking!

Wishing you a fabulous weekend!
