Laundry...and such.

Hello, friends!

I have just returned back home after another weekend road trip and event!

My nephew graduated from high school and of course, we wanted to be there, in my home town, to cheer him on as he walked across the stage and accepted his diploma.

It was a busy, busy weekend with several graduation parties, picture snapping and cake eating. (Oops).

Yes, I am now back on my routine of "clean eating"...

And the treadmill.

Honestly, I still have not found much time for art but I am enjoying playing "miss photographer" and being outdoors...

Along with laundry and such.

It is oh, so lovely on the prairie right now and I do not want to miss out on a single bloom!

I even picked some wild daisies yesterday morning and placed them in the old bottles that my dad gave to my while I was back home. As a child, I remember him often digging the earth to find such treasures...

And now they have become my treasures.

I will cherish them!

A Bit Spooky...

Hello out there!

How are you?

All is well with me.

Although I continue to wear sandals to work each day, the air is cooler and the mornings are darker.

Fall is upon us and things get a bit spooky around here this time of year.

I tend to create wacky Halloween items.

Kneading balls of clay and then sculpting them into candy corn shapes. Once they were baked and cooled, I painted each one.

A dozen candy corn necklaces are now scattered on my work table. Fun!

Big, furry insects...

Orange and purple lights.

Candles galore.

Magic potions ( a creation from last Fall).

Ghosts, goblins, pumpkins.

Yes, things get a bit spooky around here this time of year...

And I love it!

A Pretend "Fall" Day...

Interesting, it is.

How the weather can alter our minds and trick us.

It's been raining all day here. With the rain comes a chill in the air.

It truly feels like a Fall day. The sky is a drab grey color.

I made a pot of coffee, late this afternoon, and took a cup of the hot brew into the bedroom.

I got all cozy, beneath the bed blankets and opened up my art journal.

Sketching.

No plan...

Just pencil scratches...

Then some watercolor.

Soon, these faces adorned the journal page.

Kinda creepy, eh?

Well, maybe not.

I found myself thinking about Halloween, pumpkins, ghosts, goblins, black cats.

Glass bottles filled with magic potions...

Oooooh, don't you just squirm when you think of that spooky time of the year?

I dip my paintbrush into the bright colors...

Orange, green, purple, yellow, and blue.

I'm thinking that I may create each one of these characters using clay!

What do you think?

Possibly, I will.

So, in my art journal I will continue to play.

I will jot down some notes and ideas...

Spells & Potions...

Oh, my.

I have been absent once again from Blogland... but it's really not a bad thing. In fact, it's all good!

Summer was busy. The vagabond explored new places! I continued to carry my art journal and small black bag of supplies and documented each event, including my 47th Birthday! Yikes. How did that happen? I can hardly bring myself to say the number out loud. I'm getting closer to 50... (I say very softly). I must say, I am certainly enjoying my life more and more. I'm doing things that I never even imagined I would be doing and I'm certainly exposed to constant change which means that I am truly re-creating my life. It's scary, yes. But, also exciting!

By the end of August I had landed a new, full time job here in my new town! I'm thrilled to be working in a school again! This time, with older kids! Much different than elementary, but I like it! Suddenly, I became extremely busy........

and woke up one morning to cold, brisk temperatures and very grey skies!

In a blink...

FALL had arrived!

Trees were yellow, gold, orange, and red! Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins in the stores and in carts, on the side of streets! 

I could feel the creative mind spinning into holiday directions. Thoughts of Halloween projects kept me awake at night and by the time my longtime friend, Lori, arrived for a traditional Fall visit, the ideas were in full production! (Lori & I seem to create magic when bouncing our ideas off of one another)!   

The brewing began!

And lasted into wee hours of the nights. Spells, potions, paints, and much glitter.

Skulls, pumpkins, spiders, and witches by the light of the moon.

Oh, how I love these times with my dear friend.

Oh, how I love Fall!
