Friday Love!

Up at 5:00 am this morning, excited to greet the day! NO Summer school on Fridays... Hip, hip, hooray!

I savored the morning java, even had some time with Paul before he headed out to work! I baked a batch of cookies...

And once out of the oven and slightly cool, I arranged them onto a plate and took a nice little stroll.

Down the long gravel driveway.

You see, my sweetheart is self employed and has his business, right here on the property. I rarely go down there because he is at work.

But! Today is Friday and Fridays are special around here!

Usually, he closes down shop early, around noon...

And we go play!

Today will be one of those days! We are also going to get our marriage license today!

He was hard at work when I popped in with the chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. He did stop for a teensie break...

And a big smile.

This makes me smile.

I did start on a journal entry today (top photo)...

Do you see the ugly bandaid on my toe?

Well, I stepped on a mechanical lead pencil that was sitting upright in my supplies box! Of all things! The lead is quite thin and apparently sharp enough to go into skin!

Oh, how I do love Fridays in the Summer!

I now must go and enjoy the afternoon with him!!!!

Happy Friday to you!

Pink...

Hello, out there!

I type to you from my patio paradise! Oh, don't you just love, love, love Summer?!!!

I find much inspiration, right here.

Paul and I have been working in our gardens. One particular garden has been named, "The Rock Garden". It's on a slope, along a side of the house. We went shopping for the perfect plants and bushes...

But then something fabulous captured my full attention! PINK.....

Oh, yes!!!! I had to have a pair of those retro plastic, pink flamingos!

I couldn't wait to add them to a page in my Molskine art journal!

Of course, I like to color coordinate. Can't have a pair of pink flamingos without PINK flowers, don't you agree?

The rose bush that we planted, my very first Summer here, is also blooming pink! Yay!

We both really enjoy our patio.

Inspiration does come when we travel too. I quickly did another page in my journal...

Arkansas trip, Memorial Day weekend 2013.

Enjoy your day!

Oh, This Crazy Weather!

I have been home since Thursday, and must admit,... I am ready to return back to work tomorrow! (Hopefully). They say that another big snow storm is heading our way tomorrow afternoon. Oh my. Although it is very beautiful, and a perfect setting for picture-taking... I'm now getting "cabin fever".

Do you see the tire tracks in the yard? My fella has a Polaris RZR. The cold does not stop him from going outside to play! I had to get out before he did and also snap some "clean" pics before he ripped up the lovely snow blanket! Oh, just look at those sparkles!!!

It reminds me of sugar!

So soft and fluffy!

We have done a lot of snacking during this blizzard! Yesterday we did get out to do some BIG grocery shopping in the city. I bought some special cheese. It's so yummy!

It's very much like Feta cheese.... With cranberries. I love trying new foods, don't you?

I hope that I can fit into my jeans tomorrow! Giggle, giggle. I don't get much exercise during the Winter months. It's frustrating, but I just allow myself to eat through the cold season! (Pamper myself)!

I've watched lots of television these past few days. That's been fun... Since I rarely watch tv.

Paul and I both watch those true crime shows... And get spooked! Last night we had a full moon in the night sky. It was a bit eery...

But did make for a nice picture.

It's been so serene here, out in the country. I will ease into the noisy work mode tomorrow!

I could very well be back home...

Inside for a few more days soon.

Oh, this crazy weather!

Until next time...

Never Enough Time....

Today I feel as if I just haven't had enough time this week to accomplish all that I wanted to. Rush, rush, rush. I did get to work in my art journal today during my after school art club! That's always nice...

To sit with the students, who also love art, and listen to their conversations... And to see them so happy in their own art projects. Great atmosphere!

Once I was done with my work day and art club, I rushed home to catch the sun going down...

Grabbed the new camera and snapped these pics! Loving the Sony NEX 5r, and the touch screen rocks!!!!

Ok...

Gotta dash for now! See you again soon!

A Quick Post!

Just a real quick blog post tonight...

It's been a tiring Monday!

Once home from work, I added some flowers to my painting. I'm in no hurry to finish, so I decided that I really wasn't "feeling it", and have set her aside for now.

The coffee sure tasted fabulous, and I wanted to read... And unwind a bit.

I did snap some photos of the beautiful, country sunset from our backyard. Ooooooh, how fun it was! I was disappointed to discover a spot on my new Sony lens.... But it's all fixed now! Yay!!!!

I hope that you are appreciating some beauty where you are! Goodnight for now! Zzzzzzzz

Art Journaling Daily...

I do it nearly daily.
Not for anyone else, but for myself.
It's a way for me to preserve memories and thoughts.
It's my personal playground for experimenting with various art supplies and techniques.
There are NO rules to follow... EVER!
It's my best friend at times, and aids in my growth.
It's my ART JOURNAL.
Enjoy the peek inside the pages!
